AVERAGE: A Taste of DFW Bowling Tournaments ("@DFW") averages were accumulated from games bowled in @ DFW tournaments (as of June 2010) and certain UTB tournaments (prior to January 2011). 1a. Bowlers will use their current A Taste of DFW Bowling
(@DFW) averages of 12+ games as of February 1, 2012. 1b. Bowlers with 72+ (plus) games will bowl off their 72 game averages until a new @DFW average of the next 24+ games has been set. (click here to view averages). 1c. If you do not have an @DFW
average, bowlers will use their highest 2010-2011 USBC yearbook average of 36+
games. ~Any bowler who uses an average in a USBC designated sports league (tough shot or PBA experience) must add 20 pins to their average for handicap purposes. ~Please use your current USBC composite average, if it's 10+ pins
higher than your 2010-2011 USBC average (click here to go to
Bowl.com). 1d. If you
do not have a '10-’11 USBC average, bowlers will use their highest current (2011-2012)
league average (36+ games). League
standings sheets or other acceptable verification must be submitted from ALL
leagues in which a bowler has 36 or more games.
2. It shall be the team captain’s and each bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of his/her average, whether submitted by the team captain, or other. Failure to use the correct average or make a correction before an entrant bowls shall disqualify the team if the submitted average is lower than the actual average, therefore, resulting in higher handicap. If the submitted average is higher than the actual average, the submitted average will be used and handicap will be computed based on the submitted average. Correction of averages will be permitted up to thirty (30) minutes before start of the tournament. The team captain’s signature on the entry form verifies all information to be correct as submitted. NO refunds of entry or side action will be given.
3. Handicap will be 80% of 210, with a maximum handicap of 50 pins per game for females, and 30 pins per game for males. Team Cap is 625. Starting this year, with NOTED specifications, our tournaments are now open to PBA card holders, except those who are current and/or held an "exempt" status during the 2010-2011 season (this rule will change as the PBA exempt tour rules change); and PBA bowlers who have won a championship (regardless of classification) in the past 10 years. Specifications: 1). Only one PBA card holder allowed on each team. 2). Only one PBA card holder per team allowed to participate in a partnership scratch side action (i.e. cross-over doubles), and 3). PBA card holders can not participate in ANY individual handicap side action.
PRIZES: Distribution of Team Prizes will be based on the top Total Handicap Team Series. In the event of a Tie, all positions that are involved in the tie will have their allotted amount totaled and split between the tied entrants. For example, if 2 teams occupy 2nd place, then the payout will be the sum of 2nd and 3rd place divided by 2 (the number of teams) involved in the tie.
SCHEDULE: No bowling will be allowed on lanes prior to competition. Every effort will be made to begin bowling at the times indicated on the entry form. Please prepare to check-in forty-five (45) minutes prior to squad time. Any changes in team rosters must be reported thirty (30) minutes prior to tournament starting. Rearranging line-up after signing in is strictly prohibited. Practice time will be 10 - 15 minutes prior to competition.
If equipment fails on a pair of lanes, tournament officials can authorize completion of game or series on another pair of certified lanes.
Tournament management reserves the right to re-rate any bowler at any time. We also reserve the right to refuse any bowler. Any protest affecting eligibility, scores bowled or general playing rules must be addressed with the Tournament Director at the time of infraction and before prizes are distributed. All other rules not stated herein will be governed by USBC rules of which the more restrictive of the two will apply. Tournament Officials will make final decisions regarding any protests and/or discrepancies.
THERE WILL BE NO TOLERANCE FOR BOWLERS WHO CURSE, MAKE OBSCENE GESTURES AND ABUSE THE BALL RETURN, ETC. BOWLERS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED WITHOUT REFUND OF ENTRY AND/OR SIDE ACTION.
A Taste of DFW BOWLERS, ITS MEMBERS, AND TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL PROPERTY, INJURY OR LOSS TO ANY PARTICIPANT, SPOUSE, CHILDREN AND/OR GUESTS.
